Stonington – CUSH (Clean Up Sound and Harbors) will host a free workshop about natural lawn and turf care to keep play areas safe from 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 14 at Stonington High School.
National expert Chip Osborne will talk about creating healthy soils, growing lush grass free off weeds and insects without use of chemicals, and working with local officials and field managers. Van Riley, superintendent of schools, will give introductory remarks. The workshop is paid for by a grant from the Mystic Garden Club.
